In order to provide training for in-service Mandarin teachers from Myanmar, the Overseas Community Affairs Council held “2019 OCAC Training Program for Mandarin Teachers from Myanmar” at Chung Yuan Christian University from July 29th to August 16th. 40 Mandarin teachers, most of whom are just in their twenties, joined this program to advance their professional knowledge and teaching skills.
In addition to the professional courses, the 19-day program also involves general courses such as making practical/digital teaching aids and visiting tour to The Affiliated Experimental Elementary School of National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu City. In the closing ceremony held on August 15th, OCAC Deputy Director-General Lin Chi-Jung of Department of Education Affairs encouraged those teachers to learn from Taiwan's experiences and further integrate their local characteristics to develop a unique Mandarin education in Myanmar.
