The Overseas Compatriot Culture and Education Foundation held the opening ceremony of the "9th Volunteer Teacher Training Program". OCAC Vice Minister Roy Yuan-Rong Leu was invited to the activity and gave a speech.
In his speech, Vice Minister Leu affirmed the enthusiasm for voluntarily teaching Mandarin overseas of the trainees; he also expressed the hope that they can all bring their expertise into play in their teaching work to make a contribution by helping raising the Mandarin level of students overseas and spreading culture with Taiwanese characteristics. He encouraged them to complete the course and to teach overseas in the summer vacation this year.
This program has 25 participants, who will receive 65 hours of training in five stages. Courses include Mandarin teacher training courses, learning by observing other teachers, Taiwanese diverse cultural learning, and a teaching opportunity matching meeting. The students will be successively matched by the Foundation with overseas compatriot schools and will be invited to teach or teach Mandarin online.
