The traditional characters used in Taiwan embody the essence and aesthetics of traditional ethnic Chinese culture, making them well worth promoting and sharing worldwide. To this end, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) actively encourages overseas Mandarin schools and cultural organizations to host a variety of cultural and educational activities, as well as academic competitions, under the theme of the "Overseas Traditional Characters Cultural Festival". These efforts aim to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the unique beauty of traditional culture.
In 2025, the OCAC encourages Mandarin schools and cultural organizations worldwide to organize inter-school and cross-regional events. These initiatives may involve collaboration with Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning and local schools or participation in community activities. By hosting cultural and artistic competitions or events, the goal is to spark students’ interest in learning and using Mandarin while fostering stronger connections and exchanges between Mandarin schools and their local communities.
