To broaden opportunities for overseas youth to learn Mandarin and experience Taiwan's rich and diverse culture, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) has revised the "Operation Directions for Subsidies to Overseas Schools, Groups, Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning and Taiwanese Teachers Teaching in Mainstream Schools Visiting Taiwan for Mandarin Language Study or Taiwanese Cultural Activities by Overseas Community Affairs Council".

The revised directions aim to encourage overseas compatriot schools and organizations, Mandarin language classes, Mandarin school associations, Taiwan Centers for Mandarin Learning as well as current Taiwanese teachers at mainstream schools, to form groups to visit Taiwan for immersive Mandarin learning or cultural activities.
