(1)Applicants may submit a Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates issued by the National Immigration Agency as proof of residence abroad. The certificate should include records of entry and exit to and from the R.O.C. (Taiwan) under the applicant's R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport and any foreign passports (if applicable), with the application period specified as from date of birth to date of application. If such proof is unavailable, the applicant may provide entry and exit records issued by the government of the overseas residence or supporting evidence such as entry / exit stamps in a foreign passport, boarding passes, or flight confirmation documents as supplementary proof.
(2)Documents such as school enrollment certificates, academic transcripts, employment certificates, and tax records only indicate one's status as a student, employee, or taxpayer and cannot prove the actual number of days of continuous residence in the overseas location. Similarly, bank or credit card statements, utility or telephone bills, rental contracts or property ownership documents, and medical or insurance records only demonstrate eligibility or entitlement but cannot confirm actual physical residence. Therefore, none of these documents may be used as proof of continuous residence in the overseas location for six (6) months.
