Q12. There is Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement in my valid R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport. Since my stay in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) is very short, may I submit copies of my documents and authorize a representative to apply on my behalf?

1.Yes. The applicant may provide copies of the valid R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport and valid proof of overseas residence, both verified by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission. The verification page must be the original, and the power of attorney (available for download from the OCAC website: https://www.ocac.gov.tw/OCAC/Eng/Pages/VDetail.aspx?nodeid=8131&pid=82289509
must be personally signed by the applicant. These documents, along with the original verification page, shall be submitted by the authorized representative to the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC). The representative must present his or her identification documents when submitting the application.

2.For details regarding document verification procedures, please contact the nearest R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission.

3.The copy of the Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement page is not required to be verified by an R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas mission.
