The Pretoria Chinese School (PCS) successfully hosted a Study Abroad Information Session on February 4, attracting over 80 participants. The event provided comprehensive insights into international education pathways and highlighted the vital role of overseas Chinese schools in nurturing globally minded youth.
The Taipei Liaison Office in the Republic of South Africa, secretary Mr. Richard Wang and Immigration Attaché Mr. Benson Yang delivered a detailed overview of visa application procedures and the latest entry regulations for Taiwan. Their presentation offered crucial administrative guidance to ensure a smooth transition for students planning to pursue higher education in Taiwan.
PCS Deputy Executive Head Ms. Angela Liu highlighted the school’s long-standing achievements in Mandarin language education. She presented a retrospective of PCS alumni who have successfully pursued degrees in Taiwan, emphasizing the school's commitment to academic excellence.
A centerpiece of the evening was the alumni sharing session. Ms. Gagotheko Matsheka (Ming Chuan University) and Ms. Prisha Brijraj (National Cheng Kung University) shared their academic life, cultural adjustment, and the importance of peer support networks in Taiwan.
In closing, PCS Mandarin IEB teacher Mrs Cathy Lee highlighted the school’s ongoing international exchange initiatives, including its partnership with Chi-Ying High School in Taiwan, PCS is reaffirmed its commitment to preparing students for a future without borders.
