Pursuant to Article 12 of the Overseas Compatriot Identity Certification Act, an Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate is valid for one year from the date of issuance. The validity period of a digital certificate is the same as that of a paper certificate: one year from the date of issuance. For example, if the certificate is issued on July 1, 2026, it will be valid until June 30, 2027.
