The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) organized the "2024 Overseas Youth Taiwan Study Tour (Session 6) from August 1 to August 14, inviting overseas youth from Europe, Asia, Canada and other places to take part. This year, a total of 39 young people from 10 countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, and Germany, participated in the study tour. Over the course of the 14-day tour, they explored every corner of Taiwan, discovering and appreciating the magic of this beautiful island.
The 14-day study tour started from Taipei. The itinerary was organized around themes such as humanities education, ecological environment, political and economic development, local life, cultural and creative industries, and indigenous life experiences. The cities visited include Taoyuan, Nantou, Taichung, and Tainan. and Kaohsiung and other places. Additionally, to foster exchanges between overseas compatriot youth and domestic youth, the activity included a visit to Tunghai University, where participants were introduced to Taiwan's educational methods and campus life. Foreign and local students were invited to engage with the visitors, encouraging them to consider studying in Taiwan while providing insights into its educational advantages and future study opportunities.
Considering that the group members came from different countries and had different backgrounds, bilingual counselors with group recreation experience were also arranged for the activity. Through group recreation activity leadership skills and humorous communication methods, the initial unfamiliarity among group members was quickly dispelled, allowing them to get to know each other and interact more easily. This enhanced their experience, making the trip more enjoyable as they bonded with friendly counselors and fellow travelers. The activity featured specially arranged courses, including professional museum tours, youth exchanges, environmental education, and historical site exploration, all designed to enrich the group experience. The overseas participants relished a memorable and invaluable journey through Taiwan, leaving with treasured memories.
