(1) When applying in person at the service counter, please confirm with the staff whether the OCAC system can support the uncommon characters in your Mandarin name. If the characters fall within the scope of the Ministry of Digital Affairs' CNS11643 Character Database, the OCAC may process them through its character creation function, and your full Mandarin name can be displayed on the digital certificate. However, as this process takes additional time, issuance may take longer than half a working day.

(2) If your name contains uncommon characters and the OCAC system is unable to support them, your full Mandarin name cannot be displayed on the digital certificate. In such cases, you may only apply for a paper certificate.
