2.Application Steps for Overseas Compatriot Conscription-Age Males to Exit Taiwan for Short Stays or During Consecutive Holidays

Situation

Exit Procedures

1

Those who hold a valid Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service but do not have sufficient time to complete the exit procedures as an overseas compatriot conscription-age male.

Step 1:
Apply for a short-term exit as a regular conscription-age male.

Step 2:
Within 4 months starting from the day after departure, prepare all required documents and upload them to the "Overseas Compatriot Conscription-Age Male Exit Application Document Review Platform". Once approved, your status may be converted to an "Overseas Compatriot Conscription-Age Male", and the 4-month exit restriction will no longer apply.

Those who do not hold a valid Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service and do not have sufficient time to apply for one from the OCAC during their stay in Taiwan.

Step 1:
Apply for a short-term exitas a regular conscription-age male.

Step 2:
Prepare the following supporting documents and authorize an agent in Taiwan to apply to the OCAC for the Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service on your behalf:
(1)The original valid Taiwan passport.
(2)(If a photocopy is provided, the passport biodata page must be authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission, and the authentication page bearing the consular officer's signature must be submitted in original.)
(3)The original valid proof of residence in the country of overseas residence, such as a passport, permanent resident card, or residence (visa).
(If a photocopy is provided, it must first be notarized or authenticated by the local competent authority, and then authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission. The authentication page bearing the consular officer's signature must be submitted in original.)
(4)The original "Certificate of Entry and Exit Dates " issued by a service center of the National Immigration Agency, Ministry of the Interior.
Applicants must provide the Certificates of Entry and Exit Dates for their Taiwan passport and all foreign passports, covering the period from birth to the date of application.
(Notice: Those who hold a valid Overseas Compatriot Identity Endorsement and have not changed their place of overseas residence are exempt from submitting this document. If a photocopy of the endorsement page is provided, it does not need to be authenticated by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission.)
(5)A power of attorney (downloadable from the OCAC official website), signed by the applicant. Authentication by a ROC (Taiwan) overseas mission is not required.
(6) The original identification document of the authorized agent in Taiwan, such as a National ID card or passport.

Step 3:
Within 4 months starting from the day after departure, prepare all required documents and upload them to the "Overseas Compatriot Conscription-Age Male Exit Application Document Review Platform". Once approved, your status may be converted to an "Overseas Compatriot Conscription-Age Male," and the 4-month exit restriction will no longer apply.
