1、Online application: Processing time is one (1) business day. In-person application: Processed immediately upon arrival at the service counter.

2、First-time applicants (those who have never applied for exit approval as Overseas Compatriot Conscription Males) must bring their valid R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport, foreign passport (if applicable) and the Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service to apply in person (or through an authorized representative) at any National Immigration Agency service center in a special municipality or county (city). For subsequent applications (whether submitted before or after the amendment on September 8, 2025), applicants may apply online using the same R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport without appearing in person. However, if the R.O.C. (Taiwan) passport has been renewed, the first application made with the new passport must again be submitted in person.
