According to the Constitution and the Act of Military Service System, all male citizens of the R.O.C. (Taiwan) have the obligation to perform military service.
To ensure fairness in fulfilling this obligation and to accurately reflect the actual overseas residence status of conscription-age males, the one-year-valid Overseas Compatriot Identity Certificate for Military Service is now used as the official basis for recognizing Overseas Compatriot Conscription Male status.
