The 78th Anniversary of 228 Memorial Visiting Group

To commemorate the 78th anniversary of the 228 Incident, the 78th Anniversary 228 Memorial Visiting Group, led by Dr. Ke-Xiong Wang (王克雄) and composed of 28 descendants of victims, visited Taiwan from February 24th  to 28th , 2025. On February 24th , the delegation visited the Presidential Office and attended a luncheon hosted by Deputy Minister Jhao-Syong Ruan of OCAC. All members wore lily pins symbolizing peace and remembrance.

During their stay, they met key government agencies such as the Executive Yuan and National Human Rights Commission to discuss transitional justice and historical memory. The group also paid respects at several 228 memorial sites. On February 28th , They participated in the central commemorative ceremony to honor their ancestors' sacrifices and to reaffirm their dedication to preserving the historical significance of the 228 Incident. They emphasized the importance of remembering this tragic event and the lives lost in the pursuit of democracy, ensuring future generations remain aware of its enduring legacy.
