The Delegation Of " Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association Los Angeles " (CCBALA)

The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association Los Angeles (CCBALA), led by Chairman Norman Nie(聶澤英) and Vice Chairman Lester Gee (朱栢田), brought a 43-member delegation to Taiwan from April 28th  to May 3rd , 2025. On April 28th , Deputy Minister of the Overseas Community Affairs Council(OCAC) Jhao-Syong Ruan warmly welcomed the group, praising CCBALA for its long-standing dedication to upholding freedom and democracy, uniting the Southern California Chinese compatriots community, and promoting Taiwanese culture. He emphasized CCBALA's important role as a pillar of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Chairman Nie thanked the OCAC for its ongoing support. He noted that this visit, marking the 100th anniversary of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's passing, is the largest delegation in recent years. The group includes CCBALA leadership, heads of its three committees (School Board, Cemetery, Charity), and representatives from 27 affiliated organizations. Chairman Nie expressed hope that the visit would deepen cultural understanding, strengthen unity, encourage support for Taiwan, and enhance Taiwan-U.S. cooperation.

During the trip, the delegation toured key government offices such as the Presidential Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as cultural sites including the Yilan National Center for Traditional Arts, the National Palace Museum, and Jiufen. These activities aimed to enrich the delegation's appreciation of Taiwan's development and unique cultural heritage.
