The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of Washington, D.C. (CCBA), led by President Mr. Wan Yu Hsu and joined by 30 association members, paid an official visit to Taiwan from May 5th to 13th, 2025. Deputy Minister Jhao-Syong Ruan of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) warmly welcomed the delegation on the day of their arrival.
Established in 1951, the CCBA has long played a pivotal role in uniting the overseas community in the Washington, D.C. area while upholding resolute support for the Republic of China (TAIWAN). The Association permanently displays the national flag and a portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, and has become a cornerstone of community life through its signature events, including the annual Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade and Double Tenth National Day celebrations. In addition, CCBA actively promotes public service initiatives and collaborates with local government to enhance community safety and revitalization.
During their visit, the delegation was welcomed by Vice President Hsiao Bi-Khim and paid courtesy calls on the Executive Yuan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Legislative Yuan, and the OCAC. Their program also included visiting Taipei 101, presenting flowers at the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine, and touring several cultural and economic landmarks. Through these activities, the delegates gained a deeper understanding of Taiwan’s cultural diversity, democratic development, and economic achievements.
