2019 OCAC Cross-border E-commerce Practice Workshop

The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2019 OCAC Cross-border E-commerce Practice Workshop October 28-November 2 in response to the requirements of overseas compatriot entrepreneurs with regard cross-border e-commerce and understanding the development situation of related industry in Taiwan. 18 participants from eight countries (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, USA, Canada, Australia and France) took part. The opening ceremony on October 28 was hosted by OCAC Chief Secretary Chang Liang-min, accompanied by Wong Shu-hwa, Director-General of the OCAC Department of Business Affairs. The closing ceremony and general discussion were hosted by OCAC Minister Wu Hsin-hsing on November 1, accompanied by Chang Hao-jun, Deputy Director General of the OCAC Department of Business Affairs. Minister Wu heard various suggestions and called on participants to take what they had learned in the six-day and five-night program to increase the competitiveness of their business.
This workshop planned a variety of professional and practical cross-border e-commerce courses and arranged visits to outstanding e-commerce companies including SHOPLINE, Egogo and Linco; a lecture and a visit to SYNTREND shopping mall were also arranged. Participants said  that they gained a lot from the workshop; they gave strong affirmation to the development and technology of Taiwan’s e-commerce and hoped that the OCAC can continue to hold similar events to help overseas compatriot entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
