The 24th annual NCACLS meeting and the 4th International Chinese Language Heritage Education Conference held in Detroit in August

On the 4th and 5th of August 2018, the National Council of Association of Chinese Language Schools (NCACLS) held the 24th annual NCACLS meeting and the 4th International Chinese Language Heritage Education Seminar at the Sheraton Detroit Novi Hotel in Detroit, Michigan, USA. Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Minister Wu Hsin-hsing attended the opening ceremony, which was held on the morning of August 4th. He stated that due to his long-term experience in working in education, he could deeply understand and appreciate the attending teachers’ dedication to promoting Chinese language education. Minister Wu also thanked the NCACLS, the various regional associations of Chinese language schools, and the principals of the respective schools for their long-term efforts to promote Chinese language education. He also expressed his strong support for the OCAC’s various overseas compatriot education policies, which have allowed overseas compatriot education in the United States so to be smoothly promoted over many years. 

After 20 Chinese language schools from all over the United States participated in an intense academic competition. Throughout the day, the awards ceremony was held that evening and an estimated 200 people attended, making for a lively occasion and bringing the event to a perfect close.
