Markets in Taiwan and across Asia rebounded Thursday after steep declines earlier in the week driven by concerns the war in Iran could disrupt energy supplies. Taiwan’s TAIEX closed up more than 2%, though it remained about 5% lower than last Thursday’s close, while South Korea’s KOSPI rose more than 9% after a 12% single-day plunge.
