The Taiwanese Commerce Chamber in Guatemala Junior Chapter (La Cámara de Comercio Junior de Taiwán en Guatemala; hear in after CCJTWGT) was officially established on May 24 at Majadas Shopping Center in Guatemala City. Taiwan's Ambassador to Guatemala Vivia Chang attended the inaugural ceremony alongside OCAC member Chin-Chen (Erick) Liu, Chamber of Commerce in Guatemala President Chin-Fu (Mario) Chiu, and young compatriot business members, marking an important milestone in the generational succession of the overseas Taiwanese community.

Hsing-Tai (Jenni) Chang, CCJTWGT founder and an OCAC member, introduced the chapter's mission and long-term vision. He expressed the hope that the new organization would encourage more young Taiwanese entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals to participate in the chamber of commerce and broader community affairs. The Junior Chapter serves as a platform for networking, resource sharing, and mentorship while cultivating the next generation of leaders within the overseas Taiwanese community and injecting new vitality into the compatriot community in Guatemala.

Ambassador Chang highlighted that the establishment of the CCJTWGT is not just the launch of a new organization, but also a new chapter in the generational succession of Taiwanese businesses in Guatemala. Over the years, Taiwanese entrepreneurs have built deep roots in Guatemala, making significant contributions through business development, cultural promotion, community service, and compatriot initiatives. Their dedication, pragmatism and spirit of mutual support have made them an important bridge in strengthening the Taiwan-Guatemala friendship. Seeing more young people willing to take on leadership roles in community and chamber of commerce affairs, she said, is both encouraging and a source of confidence for the future development of the Taiwanese community in Guatemala.

Ambassador Chang further noted that the embassy has continued to promote bilateral cooperation in trade, culture, education, and local-level exchanges, earning strong recognition from both the Guatemalan government and mainstream society. Looking ahead, the embassy will partner with the Guatemala City Government on June 14 to host a large-scale Taiwan Food and Culture Day, showcasing Taiwan's diverse culture and soft power through Taiwanese cuisine, cultural performances, and interactive activities. The event has also received enthusiastic support from the compatriot community.

The ceremony featured the presentation of the CCJTWGT flag and the conferral of appointment certificates. OCAC Member Chin-Chen (Erick) Liu was named Honorary Chief Advisor, Hsing-Tai (Jenni) Chang was appointed Founding Advisory President, and Shao-Lin (David) Liu was elected by fellow members as the CCJTWGT inaugural president. Congratulatory video messages from the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (WTCCJC) and worldwide partner organizations were also presented to mark the official launch of the CCJTWGT. 

Participants agreed that the founding of CCJTWGT marks a significant milestone for the Taiwanese community in Guatemala. Beyond fostering the next generation of leaders, the Junior Chapter is expected to strengthen connections among young entrepreneurs, promote unity and the long-term development of the Taiwanese community, and inject fresh energy into people-to-people exchanges between Taiwan and Guatemala.
