The Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce in Latin America Junior Chapter (TCCLAJC) organized a visit to Foxconn's manufacturing facility in Jundiaí, São Paulo, on June 19. The delegation comprised 40 young entrepreneurs from 19 countries across Latin America. Accompanying the delegation were Liao-Shih Ping, Adviser of the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC); Po-Hsun Hsu, TCCLAJC Secretary-General; Li-Cheng Yeh, President of the World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (WTCCJC); and Yu-Yu Chien, President of the Câmara de Comércio Junior Brasil-Taiwan (CCJBT). The delegation was warmly welcomed by Hsuan-Chih (Vincent) Chen from Foxconn Brazil Headquarters and his colleagues.
Hsuan-Chih (Vincent) Chen mentioned that many delegation members had followed their parents from Taiwan to settle throughout Latin America. This resembles Foxconn's journey of establishing and operating a manufacturing facility in Brazil. Chen also expressed his gratitude for the support from Foxconn headquarters and commended his team for producing world-class products, which have earned the Brazil operation numerous corporate awards. He hoped the visit would give participants a deeper understanding of the challenges Taiwanese businesses have faced in Brazil and provide valuable insights.
Po-Hsun Hsu, Li-Cheng Yeh, and Yu-Yu Chien each delivered remarks and thanked Vincent Chen for arranging the visit. They also thanked Cintia Lin, President of the Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in Latin America (TCCLA), and the Brazil team for their support and hospitality during the conference. They noted that OCAC Minister Chia-Ching Hsu had traveled to Brazil to attend and preside over the conference, making it an especially meaningful occasion. They hoped that the visit would broaden the global young entrepreneurs' knowledge of emerging technologies and benefit their future business development.
The delegation was then given a video presentation by João Gabriel, Government Relations Manager at Foxconn Brazil Headquarters. He shared how the company evolved over time, so that the participants could better understand the changes in the technology sector.
Staff members then guided the delegation on a tour of the production facilities, offering an inside look at the complexity involved in producing electronic products. Following the tour, an exchange session was held, during which participants shared their observations and engaged in discussions with Foxconn representatives. The exchange provided valuable insights into the future development of the technology industry and its far-reaching impact on society.
