On August 22, the FASCA Brisbane Chapter hosted a full-day program combining morning presentation skills training with afternoon hands-on practice at the 2026 Multicultural Festival, organized by the World Multicultural Arts Association. Nearly 15 members participated in the dual-format experience, designed to turn students into active cultural storytellers. Guided by their advisory team, members learned to craft simple, engaging presentations about Taiwanese traditions and immediately put these skills to use by assisting with venue setup, guest reception, and managing interactive cultural booths centered on Taiwanese night-market food and Lunar New Year customs.
During the festival, FASCA members showcased their growing confidence and leadership across various roles. Youth ambassadors delivered fluent English presentations on Taiwan's landscapes and culinary heritage, performed vibrant traditional drum routines, and shared personal stories to help international guests connect with Taiwanese culture. Reflecting on the event, participants noted that sharing local traditions while engaging with diverse communities—including Japanese, Ukrainian, Bangladeshi, and Romanian groups—deepened their appreciation for their own heritage while sharpening their communication and teamwork skills.
