Overseas compatriots have long been the driving force for Taiwan's global development. Overseas compatriots around the world are an extension of R.O.C.(Taiwan)'s national strength and, moreover, are valuable overseas assets to our nation. In order to promote the general welfare and benefits of overseas compatriots who recognize the R.O.C. and support liberal Taiwan, our government has established two branches in New Zealand. Secretary of Overseas Compatriot Affairs, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Auckland, New Zealand was established in 2002 with the express purpose of facilitating and strengthening interaction and connection between OCAC and overseas compatriots in Auckland. Through the liaison and services of the OCAC, overseas compatriots in Auckland can feel the warmth of their homeland.
In the hopes of providing our overseas compatriots with timely contact and assistance, the main assignments of Secretary of Overseas Compatriot Affairs, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Auckland, New Zealand include providing Liaison Services to Overseas Compatriot Associations, Economic and Trade Guidance to Overseas Community Business, and Liaison Services to Overseas Compatriot Students.
