Taiwan's industrial production index reached a record high in July, rising 25% year-on-year on the back of surging global AI demand. The manufacturing sector, which accounts for most of the index, grew nearly 27%, with computers and optical products jumping more than 95% and semiconductors and electronic components climbing over 22%. AI supply chain sectors such as machinery and metals also posted steady gains, while chemicals and automotives each fell around 5%. Officials expect growth to continue through August.
