The "North Florida Chinese Association (NFCA)" founded by the late Professor Chang-Chien Lee on September 5, 1976 in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, held a Lunar New Year social lunch on February 17, with about 40 people in attendance.

The luncheon that day was hosted by President Daniel Lee, who recently invited Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Associate Advisor Tien-Shuenn Wu to report on the Year of the Dragon event hosted by the Taiwan American Association (TAA) on February 10. In order to save the time of on-site participants and also share it with members and friends who cannot come, Tien-Shuenn proposed to present a written report. Thank Daniel to distribute the electronic file of Tien-Shuenn's written report to all the members before the event, including an additional official document signed by 14 preparatory committee members provided by the founding president's wife Jennie Lee, and three website  links related reports in Chinese and English published by the TAA last week, the story of "Year of the Dragon", the website link provided by Florida State University Taiwan Student Association for the public to browse or download almost hundred TAA’s activity photos, the relevant forms for applying for the "icard" provided by the Senior Expatriate Affairs Officer Steve Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Miami, and free download website link for the "Masterworks from Taiwan" exquisite monthly calendar of the OCAC, etc.

The more than two-hour lunch was interspersed with a lucky draw where everyone won a prize, and the Lunar New Year's gatherings were held by Professor Leonard Tung singing "Flowers in the Water" and "Meet Again", and Mrs. Conrad Metcalfe performed guzheng playing "Liuyang River" and "Yao Dance" ", and former National Taiwan University Choir soprano sang the Chinese and English songs "Lotus Picking Ballad" and "Summertime & Edelweiss". The members were particularly happy to see friends they hadn't seen for a long time, chatting and reminiscing about the past, and ended reluctantly.
