On February 24th, the Indonesia Taiwan Chambers of Commerce Junior Chapter (ITCCJC) hosted a seminar on "Latest Investment and Residency Regulations for Companies in Indonesia." Ms. Lisa Lee, a senior investment advisor, was invited to deliver a lecture to brief the Taiwanese community about the latest investment and immigration information. Other invited guests included Taipei Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta Expatriate Division Chief Shu-ling Lee, Secretary Maggie Liao, Economic Division Chief Frank F. C. Lu, Secretary Chris Chen, ITCC President Jason Wang, and Secretary General Eason Kuo.

ITCCJC President Suzanne Fu expressed her delight at the attendance of many members and friends. She also distributed the membership handbook for the 6th ITCCJC, a valuable resource that helps Taiwanese businessmen and newcomers in quickly adjusting to life in Indonesia.

Chief Shu-ling Lee took the chance to showcase the latest OCAC events and services. She encouraged participants to join the "i Compatriot Card" Overseas Authorized Stores campaign or the 2024 Taiwan Prime Award Selection. For the latter event, there will be a live-streaming presentation on the 1st of March on the OCAC Facebook page. She also promoted the OCAC 2024 ESG Sustainable Management Program for Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs. In addition, Taiwanese-Indonesian children who wish to pursue further studies in Taiwan can apply for the Overseas Compatriot Student Scholarship. Division Chief Lu also encouraged Taiwanese investors to share any investment or business challenges encountered in Indonesia and voice the assistance they might need.

Ms. Lisa Lee gave an overview of the prerequisites for establishing a foreign investment company in Indonesia, covering required documentation, capital requirements, and regulations regarding work permits and visas. Additionally, a practical session for case discussions was held. Jakarta Taiwan Entrepreneur Associate Director General Chia Sheng Chin and OCAC Senior Adviser Johnson Chang also attended and shared their experiences of interacting with Indonesian officials. Ms. Li also answered questions from attendees both present and online. Approximately 80 people attended the event, and members expressed great satisfaction, hoping that the ITCCJC can organize similar events for the benefit of its members.
