Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, consist of five major islands (Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Papua) and 30 island groups. overall there are about 17,508 large and small islands, hence the name "Negara Kepulauan (Archipelago States)."
The people of Indonesia enjoys freedom of religion stipulated by the Constitution. With over 86% of Indonesians professes Islam, it is the country with the single largest population of Muslims.
Though no longer the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta still holds prominence in economic, cultural and political arenas. The business opportunities, as well as its potential to offer a higher standard of living, attracted migrants from all over the Indonesian archipelago, which has transformed Jakarta into one of the world’s largest urban agglomerations.
