FASCA Albany Holds Final Showcase After Training, Highlighting Cultural Learning and Youth Leadership
On April 11th , 2026, the FASCA Albany Chapter reached a significant milestone by successfully hosting its first self-organized training program at the Guilderland Public Library. The youth-led event blended performance arts with traditional craftsmanship, featuring rehearsals for "The World Sees Taiwan" and hands-on workshops in paper-cutting and making Âng-ku-kóe/fungˋ ban^ (紅龜粿/紅粄, Red Turtle Cakes). Beyond cultural immersion, students strengthened their bonds through "Jump into FASCA" team-building challenges and enjoyed authentic cuisine from local supporter Lucky Corner. The program concluded with a showcase attended by Deputy Director Wang of the NYC Culture Center, who commended the chapter's initiative. By adapting traditional folk arts for a modern overseas context, Albany's members demonstrated remarkable leadership and a proactive commitment to preserving and promoting Taiwanese heritage within their community.
