On March 28th , 2026, FASCA San Diego members demonstrated the power of service-driven leadership by hand-crafting 87 enrichment toys for the San Diego Humane Society. This student-led initiative not only addressed the urgent needs of local animal shelters—improving adoption outcomes through stress-reducing toys like cat wands and octopus-shaped chews—but also provided a platform for participants to sharpen their problem-solving and peer-instruction skills. Interweaving service with heritage, the event featured a ChingMing Festival (清明節) cultural session where members enjoyed traditional JunPiann/YunPiáng (潤餅), strengthening their community bonds and cultural identity. By planning future outreach and reflecting on global animal welfare issues, these young cultural ambassadors successfully bridged local volunteerism with leadership development, embodying FASCA's mission to create a lasting positive impact.
