On the evening of September 2, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in Australia – Junior Chapter (TCCAJC), in collaboration with Australian Career Forum, held its first business lecture. TCCAJC President Andy Lin invited senior executives from seven companies to share insights on their companies' development prospects and offer job-seeking advice from an employer's perspective. Attendees, including students and young professionals, found the event highly beneficial. The lecture was attended by Cheng-Wei Wu, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney, Gabriel Shih, Director of the Culture Centre of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Sydney; along with executives from various Taiwanese companies, banks, Australian Career Forum members, and over 70 international students from various universities.
Andy Lin thanked attendees for joining the first event since he became TCCAJC president. The event aimed to connect Taiwanese businesses with recent graduates, helping companies recruit top talent and offering job seekers a chance to engage directly with potential employers. Lin also introduced Ray Lee, representative from Australian Career Forum, and representatives from the Taiwanese student associations of the University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales, and Macquarie University.
Director General Cheng-Wei Wu congratulated Andy Lin on his appointment as TCCAJC president and recognized former President Peter Wang's contributions. Wu noted that the event, featuring prominent Taiwanese businesses, showcased the strong rapport within the overseas Taiwanese business community. Wu also emphasized the Junior Chamber's role as a vital platform for building local connections and matching businesses with talent.
The seven invited companies—Azabu Group, China Airlines, E.SUN Bank, Taipei Fubon Bank, Yeh's Hotel Group, MSI Australia, and Traverse Accounting Firm—introduced their business scope and vision while offering advice to young professionals. They suggested ways to improve professional skills, gain experience through volunteer work, and provided tips on resume writing, avoiding pitfalls, and showing a proactive attitude. The event highlighted the mutual support among Taiwanese businesses in mentoring the next generation.
