FASCA-SD members gathered at a member's home on September 13, 2025, to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival by making Taiwanese steamed mooncakes and egg yolk pastries. Before cooking, they learned about the holiday's history and how it's celebrated in Taiwan as a time for family, food, and togetherness.
FASCA members split into teams to make two types of mooncakes. Some wrapped red bean and salted egg yolks inside soft dough for baked pastries, brushing them with egg wash and sesame seeds. Others made steamed mooncakes with floral stamps and light powder designs. Although the process took time, everyone worked closely and enjoyed learning traditional baking skills.
When the mooncakes were ready, they packed boxes decorated with FASCA stickers and sold them to parents, raising funds for future events. Thanks to the FASCA mentor teachers' careful planning, everything ran smoothly. The activity not only brought members closer but also connected them to Taiwanese culture through teamwork, food, and celebration.
FASCA members worked hard preparing mooncakes at their own stations.
