🚨【SCAM ALERT! Beware of Fake Association Presidents and Officers!】
A familiar name and profile photo do NOT guarantee that you are talking to the real person. ⚠️
Scammers may collect publicly available names, titles, and photos of association presidents or officers from websites and social media, then create fake LINE, email, or messaging accounts to impersonate them.
📱 Common scam messages include:
“I’m in a meeting and can’t take a call right now.”
“This is urgent. Please help me handle it first.”
“Please join this group / scan this QR code.”
“Can you make the payment or transfer the money first?”
“Please send me the account information or verification code.”
⚠️ Remember these 3 anti-scam rules:
❌ DON’T TRUST IMMEDIATELY — Names, titles, and photos can easily be copied.
❌ DON’T FOLLOW SUSPICIOUS INSTRUCTIONS — Never click unknown links, scan unfamiliar QR codes, transfer money, or provide account details or verification codes.
✅ VERIFY THROUGH ANOTHER CHANNEL — Contact the person using a phone number or communication channel you already know. Do not rely solely on the new account contacting you.
🔔 VERIFY FIRST, ACT LATER!
Please share this reminder with friends, family members, and fellow members of the overseas community. Let’s stay alert and protect one another from scams! 🛡️
