Brazilian Overseas Compatriot Leader Peter K. H. Yang donated scholarship for overseas compatriot students in Taiwan

Senior Adviser, Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) Peter K. H. Yang of the Sao Paolo area presented money for overseas compatriot student scholarships at the OCAC on October 1. The 
donation was accepted by OCAC Vice Minister Roy Yuan-Rong Leu on behalf of OCAC Minister Wu Hsing-hsing; Leu thanked Senior Advisor Yang for his efforts in the area of overseas compa-triot affairs overseas and for returning to Taiwan to donate money for scholarships to benefit over-seas compatriot students in Taiwan and help them graduate.

Leu stated that the OCAC makes every effort to assist overseas compatriot students in the hope that they become outstanding talent that is localized and internationalized, possessing cultural literacy and professional skills, and can make a positive impact in their place of residence overseas; he also welcomed then to stay and work in Taiwan after graduation to make their home in Taiwan. He said that disadvantaged overseas compatriot students have an opportunity to make their dreams come true in Taiwan due to the selfless giving of overseas compatriot leaders like Senior Advisor Yang.

From 2014, Senior Advisor Yang has presented successive sums of money for use as scholarships for overseas compatriot students to encourage them to study hard and pursue success. He also en-courages students to grasp the opportunity to come to Taiwan for higher level study and receive Taiwan’s high-quality education. No matter if they stay in Taiwan after graduation and become outstanding talent for the construction of Taiwan or return home to their place of residence and help Taiwan expand its international markets or promote public diplomacy, their time studying in Taiwan will be both unforgettable and very helpful.

Leu stated that the OCAC makes every effort to assist overseas compatriot students in the hope that they become outstanding talent that is both localized and internationalized and possesses cultural literacy and professional skills and can make a positive impact in their place of residence overseas; he also welcomed then to stay and work in Taiwan after graduation.
Leu said that disadvantaged overseas compatriot students have an opportunity to make their dreams come true in Taiwan and build a bright future due to the selfless giving of overseas compatriot leaders like Senior Advisor Yang. presented him with a Silver Medal in recognition of his care for overseas compatriot students.
