To enhance the understanding of overseas youths from Southeast Asia to Taiwan's high-quality higher education and vocational education, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) holds the Overseas Compatriot Youth Taiwan Experience Program to encourage youths to study in Taiwan and promote the exchanges between domestic and overseas youths.
This year, the "2023 Overseas Compatriot Youth Taiwan Experience Program- Phillippines Class", which is held by OCAC, will start on May 20th and end on June 2nd, and expect to recruit 30 overseas compatriot youths from the Phillippines. The 14-day Taiwan study and experience tour will include school visits, political and economic infrastructure visits, Taiwanese industries visits, opinion exchanges between domestic and overseas students, multicultural experience, sightseeing, humanities education exploration, ecological environment exploration, local life experience, and group activities, which can make students learn more about Taiwanese culture.
During the 14-day tour, the organizer makes a series of sophisticated arrangements. The program consists of Taiwanese humanities and local characteristics, for example, the visit of the Presidential Office, the in-depth exploration of Taipei City, Sun Moon Lake cruising, university characteristic experience courses, industries visit, and a trip to the Gold Museum and Jiufen Old Street, Pier-2 Art Center, Guang Gu Village, and local night markets, and so on.
In addition, the program also combines Taiwanese festivals and folk activities such as DIY rice dumplings for the Dragon Boat Festival, cultural experience of traditional temples, Guang-Shing paper art DIY, ect. The purpose of these abundant and fulfilling activities is to let the participating overseas Philippino youths get to know Taiwan, R.O.C., experience the beauty of Taiwan's sceneries and humanities, have good memories and impressions, and achieve the goal of expanding youth international exchanges and strengthening the power of overseas friendship and young people.
