The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2018 Program for Overseas Compatriot and Taiwanese Entrepreneurs on the Green Energy Industry July 23-28, the aim being to encourage overseas compatriots to return to Taiwan to exchange business opportunities; overseas compatriot and Taiwanese entrepreneurs with a willingness to cooperate with the domestic green energy industry or invest in it were invited to take part, to drive investment and the development of the industry and facilitate business opportunity exchange and technical cooperation with Taiwanese green energy companies. The Program participants not only visited related industries administrative agencies including the Energy Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, National Development Council, Southern Taiwan Science Park, and Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, visits were also arranged to seven green energy enterprises, namely Neo Solar Power, Xuxin Energy Co., Ltd.,  Chang Hong Energy Technology Ltd. Co., Mai-Liao Wind Power Demonstration System (Mailiao Management Department of Formosa Plastics Group), Hengs Technology Co. Ltd, Celxpert Energy Corporation, and Chung-hsin Electric and Machinery Manufacturing Corp. A business opportunity matching meeting was also held and was 15 outstanding green energy sector companies attended to provide an opportunity for business opportunity exchange with related domestic industries. All Program participants said that they had gained a lot from participating and that it will help with developing their overseas businesses.
