2018 OCAC Seminar of Asian-Pacific Overseas Community Affairs was held from June 11 to June 16, 2018. There are 27 participants sent by overseas compatriot organizations from 13 countries in Asia and Oceania. During the seminar, participants exchanged experiences on overseas community affairs. And they discussed different topics including Taiwan's foreign policy, cross-strait relations, Introduction to the proceedings, and New Southbound Policy; visits to Office of the President Republic of China(Taiwan),National Revoluntionary Martyrs’Shrine of R.O.C , National Chiao Tung University Innovation and Incubation Center, the Industrial Technology Research Institute and other bureaus were also arranged to increase the understanding of Taiwan's culture, industry and technology of participants.
OCAC Deputy Minister Kao Chien-Chih thanked the overseas community participants from the Asia-Pacific region for showing the importance they attach to overseas community affairs and the development of the overseas community through action and for sincerely and practically serving the people and overseas compatriots in their communities respectively. The OCAC Seminar of Asian-Pacific Overseas Community Affairs has been held annually with the aim of giving managing level staffs in overseas communities an understanding of Taiwan's political and economic construction through official calls, lectures, discussion meetings and informative visits. Also, the Seminar increases horizontal contact among the managing level staffs of overseas communities.
