The Northern California Taiwanese Association and the chairman of the DPP Silicon Valley Branch held a video conference with the OCAC. Minister Amb. Chen-Yuan Tung, PhD first thanked all the overseas community association leaders for their long-term support to Taiwan, and explained that Taiwan’s economic growth rate last year reached 2.98%, the highest in the world, and its technological R&D energy accounted for 3.5% of GDP, the third highest in the world, and its ability to innovate even more. The top four in the world are second only to Germany, the United States, and Switzerland. It is hoped that all overseas compatriots can use Taiwan's advantages and energy to promote Taiwan to the world and create better development.

Minister Amb. Chen-Yuan Tung, PhD explained that since taking office in June last year, the OCAC has set four major goals to promote overseas community affairs, including "using new technologies and new models to expand services to overseas compatriots" and "deepening the connection and cooperation between overseas compatriots and Taiwan in various fields." , "Using Taiwan's advantages to help overseas compatriots from around the world take root and grow strong in their homes" and "Gather the energy of overseas compatriots from all over the world to strengthen Taiwan."

During the conference, the chairman of the Northern California Taiwanese Association and the chairman of the DPP Silicon Valley Branch held questions and exchanged opinions with the Overseas Community Affairs Council. In addition to answering one by one, Minister Amb. Chen-Yuan Tung, PhD affirmed the enthusiastic service and support of overseas communities leaders, and looked forward to continuing to support the government in the future and unite the strength of overseas compatriots to jointly promote national diplomacy. Finally, Minister Amb. Chen-Yuan Tung, PhD hope that everyone will survive the epidemic safely, meet as soon as possible after the epidemic eases, and continue to strengthen exchanges and interactions with the Taiwanese overseas Chinese community.
