2020 OCAC Baking Skills and Entrepreneurship Workshop

The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2020 Baking Skills and Entrepreneurship Workshop from March 9 to 14, which was aimed at helping overseas compatriots learn baking skills, business management skills, and  entrepreneurial  skills.  12 trainees from 6 countries completed the program.
The opening ceremony on March 9 was chaired by Chang Shu-Yan , Director-General of the Department of Business Affairs of the OCAC. The closing ceremony and discussion panel was hosted by Chief Secretary Chang Liang-min, who encouraged the trainees to use what they had learned to grow and develop business opportunities after returning to their countries of residence.  He also encouraged them to keep in touch with OCAC’s Culture Centers and overseas staff members so that they could obtain useful information regarding business and activities .  
In the Workshop, trainees attended lectures on how to run baking businesses and courses on how to make Taiwanese style pastry and special bread, such as handmade pineapple cake, taro pastry, cream cheese bun, etc.  They also visited Isabelle and Shinehouse, 2 major brands in the bakery industry in Taiwan, and Sanneng, the leading bakeware supplier in Asia.  All trainees said they had learned a lot from the program and expressed their gratitude to the OCAC and the co-organizer Hungkuang University for making this program possible.
The 2020 OCAC Baking Skills and Entrepreneurship Workshop came to a successful close. Participants had a happy group photo taken together.
