The Council Of Taiwanese Chambers in Vietnam Junior Chapter (CTCVNJC), JCI Capital Harbor, JCI Vietnam and HCMC Young Business Association came together to donate a container house, books and other materials and money to Tan Phong elementary school in a remote part of Tỉnh Bến Tre Province for the benefit of disadvantaged children, displaying the compassion of Taiwanese business people.

This charity donation activity was attended by chief Edison Li and chief supervisor Sam Chen on behalf of the CTCVNJC. It was also attended by YBA representatives from across Vietnam, the chairman of CTCVNJC and representatives from local government. A container house was donated to the school as were a library and a number of boxes of dolls and books from Taiwan; and US$5000 in donated money was also given for the purchase of the library collection and equipment to supplement the study resources of the disadvantaged children. The compassionate act by members of CTCVNJC was warmly welcomed by the children. In a moving scene, they smiled excitedly when they saw the new library, waving at the CTCVNJC to express thanks.

Guided by the idea of "taking from society, giving back to society", Taiwanese business people in Vietnam integrate the resources of Taiwanese enterprises and, together with local government and charity units, take care of disadvantaged groups and poor families, cultivating people to people relations and improving the image of Taiwanese business people overall. In the growth process of second generation Taiwanese business people, they developed strong affection for both Taiwan and Vietnam. Young Taiwanese business people leading charity events to give back to Vietnamese society is more able to bring together the enthusiasm and power of kindhearted people and social groups and convey them to those in need. The efforts not only help improve the lives of local poor families, they also build a bridge of friendship between the people of Taiwan and Vietnam.
