The very first session of OCAC Compatriot Youth Taiwan study tour 2018, sponsored by the OCAC concluded on 24th January.
Members from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Panama and Paraguay shared 3 weeks together traveling all four corners of Taiwan and had, as such, made life-long friends with one another and with fellow students in Taiwan as well.
As both a modern economy and a thriving democracy, and with its welcoming people, stunningly beautiful landscape and world-renowned local cuisines, Taiwan is bound to impress.
In the closing ceremony held on 23rd January at TamKang University, Brazilian group leader Miss HUI FEM CHEN expressed her gratitude for the OCAC for sponsoring the tour and allowing compatriot youths from another continent a chance to know the land that once nourished their parents and/or grandparents.
Though the tour ended on 24th Jan, most members stayed behind to spend the rest of the spring break here with their extended family. Indeed for some, the journey to get to know the real Taiwan has only just begun.
