2019 OCAC Taiwan Baking Skills and Business Startup Workshop

With the aim of helping overseas compatriots learn baking skills to increase their business operating and entrepreneurial capabilities, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2019 Taiwan Baking Skills and Business Startup Workshop March 11-16. 36 trainees from 18 countries took part in and completed the program. In the six-days of the Workshop, as well as taking baking courses and receiving lectures on baking business operating strategy and Taiwan’s present economic development and challenges, participants also attended the 2019 Taipei International Bakery Show. OCAC Minister Wu Hsing-hsin conducted the Workshop opening ceremony and exhorted trainees to make good use of what they learn when they return home, he also expressed the hope that their upgraded skills will help their career develop. The closing ceremony and discussion meeting were chaired by Wong Shu-hwa, Director-General of the OCAC Department of Business Affairs. Workshop participants all said they had learned a lot from the program, thanked the OCAC for caring for overseas compatriots and also expressed gratitude to the undertaking unit China Grain Products Research & Development Institute (CGPRDI) for providing professional guidance.
