2020 OCAC Coffee Skills and Business Startup Workshop

The Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the 2020 Coffee Skills and Business Startup Workshop from September 21 to 26, which provided training courses on coffee skills and entrepreneurial management to overseas campatriots.  36 trainees from 19 countries completed the program.
The opening ceremony on September 21 was chaired by Wang Wei-Zan , Deputy Director-General of the Department of Business Affairs of the OCAC. The closing ceremony and discussion panel was hosted by Senior Executive Officer Liou Huei-min, who encouraged the trainees to use what they had learned to develop and expand business opportunuities after returning to their countries of residence.  She also encouraged them to keep in touch with Culture Centers of TECO and overseas staff members to obtain useful information regarding business and activities. In the Workshop, trainees attended lectures and courses on how to run coffee businesses and how to select, make, and display coffee and desserts. They also visited local coffee enterprises, Farmers Associations, Taiwan High Speed Rail, cultural and creative industries, and a coffee vending machine supplier in Taiwan. All trainees said they had learned a lot from the program and expressed their gratitude to the OCAC and the co-organizer Ling-Tung University for making this program possible.
