OCAC 2019 Taiwan Tea Beverage and Snack Business Startup Workshop

To assist overseas compatriot and Taiwanese businesses acquire an understanding of Taiwan’s tea beverage and snack industry development situation, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the OCAC 2019 Taiwan Tea Beverage and Snack Business Startup Workshop November 11-16. The Workshop was attended by 29 trainees from 19 countries. The opening ceremony on November 11 was hosted by OCAC Deputy Minister Kao Chien-chih, accompanied by Specialist Chang Yu-chang of the OCAC Department of Business Affairs; the results presentation and closing ceremony on November 15 were hosted by OCAC Chief Secretary Chang Liang-ming, accompanied by Chang Hao-chun, Deputy Director General of the OCAC Department of Business Affairs. Deputy Minister Kao called on trainees to engage in engage with domestic enterprises when they achieve success overseas to increase the competitiveness of their business.

The Workshop featured various tea beverage and snack related practical courses and visits to related business, including Chiou Shan Tang Tea, Mr. Wish (hand-mixed drink franchise,) HUGOSUM black tea plantation (domestic tea factory), Ten Ren’s Cha For Tea (distinctive tea beverage and snack business) and Shudo Kitchen Equipment Studio; two lectures were also arranged. Trainees learned a lot from the Workshop; they gave high affirmation to  the development and technology of Taiwan’s tea beverage and snack industry and hope that the OCAC can continue to hold similar events to assist overseas compatriot and Taiwanese businesses grow.
