2019 OCAC Seminar of Asian-Pacific Overseas Community Affairs was held from June 10 to 15, 2019. Participants included 30 overseas compatriot organization leaders from 11 countries in Asia and Oceania.
During the seminar, overseas community affairs working experience exchange discussions and various special topic lectures were arranged, the topics including Taiwan’s foreign policy, cross-strait relations, economic development and tourism marketing. Participants also visited the Presidential Office Building, the Martyrs’ Shrine, Danshui Fort Santo Domingo, Danshui Fort Huwei, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI)and Dasi Old Street.
The OCAC Seminar of Asian-Pacific Overseas Community Affairs has been held annually with the aim of giving mid-level leaders in overseas communities an understanding of Taiwan's political and economic construction through official calls, lectures, discussion meetings and informative visits. Also, the Seminar also increases contact between the young elites of overseas communities, promoting cooperation in the areas of trade, culture and education and overseas community groups.
