With the aim of encouraging overseas compatriot and Taiwanese entrepreneurs to return to Taiwan to engage in business opportunity exchange, overseas compatriot and Taiwanese entrepreneurs with an interest in cooperating with or investing in the tea beverage industry in Taiwan were invited by the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) to take part in the 2018 OCAC Taiwan Tea Beverage Industry Investment Program for Taiwanese and Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs October 22-26 ; the aim of the Program was to drive investment and development of the industry and facilitate exchange and technical cooperation with Taiwan tea beverage companies. 29 Taiwanese and overseas compatriot entrepreneurs from 11 countries, namely Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina and South Africa returned to attend the Program. The schedule included visits to industry policy agencies the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and the Department of International Affairs of the Council of Agriculture (COA) as well as visits to seven outstanding tea beverage enterprises and related institutions: Shangtong Co. Ltd.上統食品, KLUB Technology Corp.科祿柏科技, SKT Tea House沙坑茶廠, Ten Ren Tea Co. Ltd.天仁茗茶, Chun Shui Tang Co. Ltd.春水堂, Tea Research and Extension Station of the COA農委會茶葉改良場and the CF Tea Co. Ltd.泉發製茶廠; a business opportunity matching event was also held to which 15 excellent tea beverage enterperises were invited to engage in exchange. All Program participants said they gained a lot in their time in Taiwan and it will be a big help in developing their businesses in their country of residence.
