In line with the government’s policy of promoting investment in Taiwan, the OCAC 2018 Artificial Intelligence Industry Program for Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs was held October 1-5, 2018. The visiting group was comprised of overseas compatriot and overseas-based Taiwanese entrepreneurs in different industries from eight countries, namely Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia, the US, Canada, Brazil and Germany, who came to Taiwan search for business opportunities. The program participants visited the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the AI Robotics Hub at CTSP (Central Taiwan Science Park), Artificial Intelligence for Intelligent Manufacturing Systems Research Center (AIMS), Taiwan AI Academy and other units; the group also visited seven AI related companies, namely iKala Interactive Media Inc., E.I.LI.S, E-Lead Electronic Co., Ltd., Avertronics Inc., Sha Yang Ye Inc., Aver Information Inc. and NEXCOM International Co., Ltd.; two AI- themed lectures were also arranged for the program members and one business opportunity matching meeting held, the aim being to promote the increase in AI industry investment momentum in Taiwan and overseas.
