To encourage compatriots to return to Taiwan to engage in business opportunity exchange, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) invited overseas compatriot and overseas-based Taiwanese business people who are interested in cooperating with or investing in the new agricultural industry in Taiwan to take part in this activity to drive investment and industrial development and facilitate the exchange of business opportunities  and technical cooperation with new agricultural industry businesses in Taiwan. The New Agriculture Overseas Compatriot Entrepreneurs Visiting Group visited Taiwan between June 25 and 30. The Group visited important agricultural administration agencies such as the Agricultural Technology Research Institute, Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Council of Agriculture (COA), Taiwan Seed Improvement and Propagation Station, COA, Taiwan Orchid Plantation, The World Vegetable Center, and Kaohsiung District Agricultural Research and Extension Center; visits were also arranged to six agricultural enterprises, namely, Tai-I Ecological Leisure Farm, Taichung Young Farmers’ Development Association (Farmer Talking Co. Ltd), Sun Fresh Co. Ltd, Nice Garden Industrial Co. Ltd (Nextland), Solar Farm Corp. and Known-You Seed Co. Ltd; a business opportunity matching meeting was also held in which 15 outstanding suppliers in Taiwan’s new agriculture sector were invited to attend to facilitate the exchange of related business opportunities. Group members said that their visit was very rewarding and will be of substantial assistance in developing their overseas operations.
