The Washington DC Taiwanese School held a series of online training programs for Taiwanese teachers on three consecutive weekends from August 22nd to September 6th and invited 9 outstanding lecturers from Taiwan and the U.S. to share Taiwanese language teaching techniques. About 200 teachers participated. The training programs included the current situation of Taiwanese teaching, lively and interesting teaching methods for elementary students, application of Modern Taiwanese Language (MTL) teaching materials, application of teaching materials on the Public Television Taiwanese channel, lists of online resources for teaching and teaching materials, as well as class management and worksheet editing and preparation. Teachers from overseas compatriot schools all benefited a lot from the 3-weekend training. It is believed that overseas Taiwanese teaching will be more effective and Taiwanese culture will continue to thrive overseas.
