In order to show the love of overseas compatriots for their home and country, on October 5, the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC) held the Presidential Cup Overseas Compatriot Choral Competition, and held a welcome banquet in the evening for 13 outstanding choirs from the US, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. Afterwards, karaoke singing also took place. Minister Wu Hsin-hsing led OCAC officials and staff onto the stage to sing “Happily Setting Sail” alongside representatives from each choir. Amidst laughter, the curtain was lifted on this year’s National Day events.
