Taipei, Nov. 7 (CNA) A festival in France this month will feature Taiwanese films, while Taiwanese Tsai Ming-liang will be invited to host a masterclass in directing, the festival's website shows.

The program of the 40th Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes will include a segment called "Taipei Stories," during which 12 films set in Taipei at different periods of Taiwan's cinema history will be screened, showing the city's transformations, according to the festival's website.

The movies will include "Taipei Story," directed by Edward Yang, and "Daughter of the Nile" and "Cheerful Wind" by Hou Hsiao-hsien.

On Nov. 24, Tsai's new film "Your Face" will be screened and the next day he will host a masterclass in directing, according to the website.

The French film festival, which will be held Nov. 20-27, has been partnering with Taipei Film Festival since 2015 to help Taiwanese filmmakers and producers create scripts and movies that can attract international attention.

It also provides information on European film concepts, funding, markets and copyright, according to Cultural Center of Taiwan in Paris.
